General Business Major

Graduates are also well prepared to pursue advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration or Accountancy. Launch a successful business career with a general business degree from UWF. We offer small classes, one-on-one interaction with a diverse faculty and a broad program across multiple business disciplines, including management, marketing and finance/economics. The Online Track requires students to successfully complete 33 credit hours.Students must select 11 courses from the following list of approved business coursework based on the student's interests.

Undergraduate Student Services Office

Through courses that can count towards degree requirements students can spend 1-3 weeks immersing themselves in a foreign country and meeting professionals from different business industries. The CAGLE Center offers approximately 20+ trips yearly for students to explore the world. The student's chosen dataguyacademy transfer institution determines the mathematics courses to complete in order to be a successful transfer candidate. Students completing MATH 162 and MATH 171 will be best prepared to transfer to baccalaureate programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business .

Students can do this by supplementing the foundation courses with elective courses from several disciplines or extend and deepen career preparation with more advanced work in a particular area of administration or analysis. By making rational use of general electives and distribution requirements, student may design programs to achieve their career goals. Students pursuing a General Business concentration may also choose a track in Pre-Law.

Computer and information systems managers earn $83,280 to $109,130 while financial managers earn $72,580 to $131,730 per year. Leighton School graduates with degrees in general business work in management positions in a variety of corporate and business settings. As a general business major, you can work in a management role in a wide range of industries, including government, non-profits, franchises, and corporations. Most importantly, our customizable General Business major allows you to earn an accredited degree that meets your needs and aspirations.

Academic Departments

Students select courses across all business sub-disciplines, obtaining an understanding of the field of business. Courses are selected within a particular sub-discipline to develop specialized knowledge of a particular area of business. Positions available to graduates with a General Business major are those that require a broad, overarching understanding of the business function, rather than a specialized knowledge within a particular business sub-discipline.
